EXOTAP® Premium Taps
You'll
find "difficult to machine" stainless steels are
not so difficult to tap anymore. New OSG/SOSSNER EXOTAPS
have been developed to withstand the high stresses and high
heat generated when working stainless materials. They
are made of a unique steel EXOTAP alloy which delivers longer
tap life... up to 20 times longer than ordinary high speed
steel taps working in stainless. And that means big
savings in tool costs and downtime for tool changing.
All sizes are ground with special relief for
free cutting and are steam-oxided for lubricity.
EXOTAP advantages add up to more pieces tapped
per hour because there's less downtime for tool changes,
and lower cost for tooling and labor to change tooling.

EXOTiN®
Premium Taps
Titanium Nitride coated EXOTiN taps from OSG/SOSSNER can
provide an increased tool life from two to eight times in
your operation depending on the application.
They feature an extremely hard and durable
surface, high lubricity, longer life, less friction and
galling - all of which add up to increased feeds and speeds
for higher productivity with less tool changing and reset-up.
This results in more metal removal, in less time, at a lower
cost. That's the value built into every OSG/SOSSNER
cutting tool.

HY-PRO HSSE-V3 Taps
HY-PRO
HSSE-V3 taps are designed for high-speed tapping applications
- from stainless and carbon steels to aluminum. They
provide the extra wear-resistance of 3% vanadium - a feature
previously found only in specialized premium-priced taps.
In addition to 3% vanadium wear properties,
HY-PRO HSSE-V3 taps feature special tempering and a unique
free-cutting design. This tempering and geometry also
contribute to extra tool life.
HY-PRO HSSE-V3 taps have been developed to
withstand the high stress and the heat associated with high-speed
CNC production tapping. From stainless steels to aluminum,
these versatile taps deliver up to 20 times longer tool
life than conventional high-speed-steel taps.

HY-PRO SEVEN Taps
Engineered
for versatility in tapping aluminum and low carbon steel
up to 30 HRC and in form tapping 300 series stainless steels,
low carbon steels and aluminum.
HY-PRO SEVEN taps are manufactured from premium
high speed steel and are triple tempered for toughness and
longer life. Our unique geometry coupled with ideal
pitch diameters for class 2B or 3B fit result in maximum
tool life, better finish and a higher degree of consistency.
HY-PRO SEVEN taps are designed to run at higher
tapping speeds up to 80 feet per minute for aluminum and
50 feet per minute for steel. New TiN and TiCN coating
enable NU-ROLL™ taps to run at 60 to 80 feet per minute
in tapping stainless steels.
