Straight Flute

Vermont Straight Shank Chucking Reamers are designed for accurate reaming in most materials using all types of machine tool equipment. The 45° angle, optimum rake angle, relief angles, flute spacing, and land widths are selected to assure quality and accuracy of the finished hole. The straight flute design is recommended for general purpose reaming applications.

Spiral Flute

Vermont Right Hand Spiral Fluted Chucking Reamers are recommended over straight fluted chucking reamers for those materials where additional shear is necessary, better surface finish, and applications with an interrupted cut such as a key way or cross hole.
